About us

In 1982 I started a steel distribution and importing company selling cold heading quality wire and rod in stainless, brass, bronze, aluminum and alloy metals. During that time a lot of the materials were shipping out of Japan. My father had been in the cold heading fastener manufacturing business for 30 years and screws were in our blood. A few years later in 1984, the company expanded and diversified into 12L14 bar stock and specialty metals for screw machine manufacturers. Later I purchased a cold heading fastener manufacturing company and sold to distributors.

Life took me down it's many roads and I got involved in real estate and powdered metals for golf heads and tooling. My company was doing R&D for two of the top golf companies in Carlsbad California. After many interesting twists and turns, I recently decided to come back into the steel business dealing with the screw machine manufacturers as a steel distributor. 

​Today, RKL Steel stocks an array of products such as sheet, bar, tubing and plate. We handle materials such as aluminum, aluminum bronze, bronze, silicon bronze, brass, stainless and copper. We stock  both foreign and domestic material.
